The tour takes you through the start to finish of what it looks like to grow and ship oysters from our farm and factory right outside of Charleston, S.C. To offer fresh, briny oysters all year round, Lowcountry Oyster Company uses sustainable cage farming techniques to grow oyster babies in our nursery and help them cultivate into adulthood.

These oysters grow up to be the famous single selects known by Lowcountry Cups, an oyster unique to LowCo! By land and by boat, you’ll get to see, smell, touch, and taste one of the culinary backbones of the Lowcountry.

What should I bring?

We encourage you to bring a camera and your best learning attitude. Sunscreen, a hat, and bottled water are also a good idea - we do have these things available for purchase in case you forget.

What do I wear?

Wear old clothes that you do not mind getting dirty or wet! T shirt, pants or shorts, closed toe shoes, and a hat are a great outfit for the day.

How will we be getting around?

We will be visiting the oyster farm on our trusty 20’ Carolina Skiff* and the rest of the tour will be walking around the site. 

Will there be other people on my tour?

Yes! We offer each tour at 10 people per tour. Private tours are available upon request.

What happens in bad weather?

All tours are weather dependent, we will try our best to keep your scheduled date but if the weather is an issue, we can talk about alternatives and rescheduling. 

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Tours are non-refundable purchases. Interruptions caused by weather conditions will be addressed with alternative options on a case-by-case basis. Tours are transferable with 24 hours' notice. Tours scheduled during light rain conditions will continue as planned unless otherwise discussed.
